Five Langston Hughes Poems America Needs To Read
I can relate to the frustration of the poet when he writes,
“I tire so of hearing people say,
Let things take their course.
Tomorrow is another day.”
When I hear people respond like this, I want to say,
“Wake up. We can’t just sit and wait. We need to reclaim all that is good about this country and repel those things that tarnish its shine.”
As a parent, reclaiming all that is good is important for my children’s future.
I couldn't agree more. I wish Langston could write a few more poems right now.
